Where: 2nd UB City, MG Road, KG Halli, Shanthala Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
This one is on my list to pig out at, when next in Bangalore. From what I hear, this quirky gourmet bistro and bar attracts the youth because of its edgy decor and contemporary ambience. It serves pan-Indian cuisine fusing western culinary elements with offbeat food. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, with a live band arrangement as well.
Some of those who've been here say speak of the food as "promising" with special mention of non-vegetarian and complementary dishes. The in-house brewed beer gets special brownie points. Many say that the ambience here is mesmerising. The service is prompt and the restaurant has a relaxing vibe.
Some not as great experiences shared in various reviews by fellow foodies suggest that the place has rude bouncers, lethargic staff, expensive food and limited alcohol stock even on weekends. There are also dress code regulations, governed in inconsistent ways by the staff.
Confession: Haven’t been there but would definitely visit it once. I am excited about the food presentation there and would like to give the social wine-and-dine experience there a try.
Best: ‘I have been to Farzi plenty of times and everytime I feel it's a thankless job for the staff. What I have now come to appreciate is the amount of effort the team takes in experimenting and coming up with something new each and every time, whether it is new batches of beer or just completely introducing a new menu that takes your breath away’ - Psychedellic on MouthShut.com
Worst: ‘Worst staff, lazy, slow, very inattentive and not at all interested in serving right....they take our orders in half an hour, not even served the signature welcome shots or the pan..we have to asked (sic) for it..food was average...the staff ,especially those who were serving seemed in hangover (sic)...overall experience was bad’- Varnika Rai on Google Reviews
Funny: ‘...the menu is complicated. Like dude, you need to understand it completely before ordering anything’- Sumera Akther on MouthShut.com.
Not so funny: ‘I’ve visited farzi multiple times till date. Today was the last straw. I called in the afternoon, to ask for a table outside. The best they could do was make us sit at the entrance. We were told that there is a strict dress code and we weren’t allowed to wear shorts or sandals, but once we reached all dressed up, I noticed the staff jolly well taking in people wearing shorts and sandals! Over all shitty experience’ - Sathwick Bethapudi on Zomato.
