Have you ever wondered why us people end up spending more money than we would like?
It is always a conundrum as to how we manage to burn all the cash within a span of few days. For many, it is "the" unfathomable question.
But it is simple really. As long as people know where to look, finding the answer is quite simple.
I call it the shopping mall/supermarket theory. That is because, when we enter a mall, the two most important places people go towards is the food court and the cinema and they are always at the top floor.
If a person wants to reach that place, they will have to go through all the floors, look at different shops and they would be tempted to spend their cash unnecessarily.
Similarly, at a supermarket, people would have to walk past all the rows to get to essentials. Items kids love would be at the height they can reach and near the billing station.
In both places, there would rarely be windows and clocks. That is because people should not be aware of the time spent, you see.
Similarly, for example, a new service provider will start business by providing lots of freebies. Then, they will slowly start to increase their rates and finally, when you are dependent on it, force you to upgrade to the next level, by hindering you all the while.
One great example is YouTube. Unless you have the premium pack, tonnes and tonnes of ads will be played before one watches videos.
This is done by every firm as it is a business tactic to milk more money from existing customers. That is because they want to offset the offers they give to new customers to lure them in.
If we understand this and lead our lives accordingly, life will be blissful. What say?
